60 years ago this week the short life of Buddy Holly was ended at the tender ago of 22.The amount of brilliant rock `n roll songs he wrote in a 2/2 and a half period,is comparable to the great rock `n roll songwriters,Leiber and Stoller,Chuck Berry,Goffin-King,and later on Lennon-Mccartney,Jagger-Richards and Robert Zimmerman. How many more great songs would he have written if he had of lived longer.Tragic.

True.
His influence on Dylan especially was profound.

When they go low-we go high.

What struck me about his music was how joyous it was - just fun !

The day the music died

So - Bye, bye Miss American Pie
Drove my Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry
And them good ole boys were drinking whiskey and rye
Singin' this'll be the day that I die

Heading out for the East Coast / Lord knows I've paid some dues gettin' through, / Tangled up in blues.
