Matt Johnson is bringing the latest incarnation of this iconic band to Australia as part of their reunion tour for four gigs in early October - two in Sydney and two in Melbourne (Oct 4 already sold out). My favourite band of the 80's!!

Absolutely fabulous show in Melbourne on Friday night. How was it up in Sydney? Matt comes across as a really warm, funny, engaging guy, somewhat in contrast to the rather bleak intelligence of his songs. The The would be a treat at fest in the future, but it's very unlikely to happen.

I saw the first Sydney show, absolutely loved it. But I thought Matt was pretty sombre and serious throughout, maybe it was jet lag. The band were tight! I hope they come back once the new album is finished.
