Richard Thompson's 13 Rivers just released and he hasn't been here for a while. Amazing guitarist and what a distinct voice. Saw Hot Potato Band recently and they were a very entertaining group of young musicians. Even had a sousaphone. Reminded me of Dirty Dozen Brass Band who should also be at Byron in 2019.
By the way, what is the definition of "roots"? Is it supposed to be "blues roots"?

Loving the new Maxwell song (very Prince-ish), he would make a nice addition.

Can't see Bryan and his band staying around over a month, but would have been cool. Hot Potato Band are fricking awesome and would go off crowd interaction wise in one of the smaller tents. Got a great but short review in SMH monday too. But great bill so far, loving the spotify app for 2019, but definitely a bit of New Orleans brass required. Preservation Hall would be the best, but Hot 8 , Trombone Shorty, Rebirth would all be awesome. John Boutte's chicken soup soul would be great as well. But Hot Potato please......

There’s certainly room, but also a six week gap between the final date of his tour in New Zealand and the opening day of Bluesfest!

Great to see this veterans of the music scene and the original girl power act still going strong. I think we were lucky that Keeshia pulled out last year given the atrocious reviews received in the press of her recent tour.

Perfect all girl band to tick the box for the gender/rainbow balance

This band will have a proper backing system in place to allow them to sound exactly as they did 30+yrs ago. This would be great to close the show perhaps on the Monday night? Hanna Gatsby and Caitlyn Jenner could introduce them like Mike Carlton introduced Rodrigo Gab a couple of years ago….

New albums released today by DEAD CAN DANCE and MARIANNE FAITHFULL (feat Nick Cave and Warren Ellis)

Both brilliant !

Would love to see both at Bluesfest although I hear Marianne is quite fragile these days due to arthritis.

Lots of gob, dressed in black, spikey hair gel, cigarettes, excessive loudness and punk rythms.

I notice with great excitement that "Stars" have reformed with the same lineup from the 70's,the great Andrew Durant (taken way too young) has been replaced by Nick Charles, one of the great roots and blues guitarists in Australia. What a great addition they would be to the 2019 lineup. The new song "Time stands still"is a wonderful "comeback" song, with a nice reference to Andrew Durants early passing.I saw them many many times way back then, their live shows were incredible.....

:)... Hey Space5279, don't ask me questions!
but seriously, having Graham Parker would be a coup and big attraction and crowd pleaser.

No doubt, but you would have to hold back the night.
