For those that like to dabble in buying tickets for sold out gigs. Viagogo is clearly a complete rip off and shouldn’t be allowed to operate in Australia.

Tips for buying off random’s on gumtree etc. Meet them in person – find out where they live/work and let them know that you know.

Moral of the story. Don’t use viagogo. Ever.

The sad bad experience of close commercially astute friends is as per the above. And government watchdogs gave reinforced the message.

For those with a conspiratorial bent
From Wikipedia

Viagogo (stylised as lowercase viagogo) is an online ticket marketplace for ticket resale. The company, which was founded in London in 2006, has a network of more than 60 global websites with customers in 160 countries. Viagogo is backed by the venture capital investment firm Index Ventures as well as Brent Hoberman, the co-founder and former CEO of Lastminute.com and Lord Jacob Rothschild via his family interests.[1] They have faced criticism for inflating ticket prices.

I would think they get that position by paying for it.
Some believe that If you asked "google" about the ethics of taking money from viagogo, they would probably duck.

How many surveys do you see where every rating is one out of five.
They prey on those who are too trusting.
They clip the ticket.

Yes I've heard of people buying tickets through Viagogo and then finding someone else sitting in their seats when they got there.

I would never buy tickets from there.

I have to add that Ticketmaster Resale isn't much better, it's basically enabling legal scapling of tickets at inflated prices.

They get top spot because they pay for it.
