Please confirm the following is the current situation Question and additional information

1)The songwriter of this song has appeared at Bluesfest.
Additional information
Songwriter is English

2) When it was originally written it was offered to some other musicans(sic) who have also appeared at Bluesfest, but they turned it down.

A clue. The musicans (sic)who turned it down were also English.
And when they performed at Bluesfest they were light on original members.

3)It was subsequently recorded by different musicans (sic) and became their most well known song.
The Americans who later recorded it formed their band in 1965.

just a footnote...the second band on the list...1910 fruitgum company...had a hit with YUMMY,YUMMY,YUMMY IVE GOT LOVE IN MY TUMMY... which neil finn did a version of in his bluesfest finale this year.

see ... lots of crap that you never knew.

Yes indeed & it is a great garage band song.
Toy Love covered it on their 1980 album in punk style.
I have never seen anyone cover this track
