The promo poster with the Ms Lauryn Hill announcement says 75 bands on five stages over five days. Given Ms Hill makes it 46 acts that leaves another 29 to go. Excellent!

blues pills joanne shaw taylor bad company Kenny wayne shepherd quinn sullivan simo Have to agree that it would be good to get some more blues artists in. Joanne Shaw Taylor would be fab, as would any of the others you have mentioned. Also wouldn't mind seeing a couple of the other artists on Walter Trout's latest album....would mean we would more than likely see a few collaborations. Really hoping that Warren Haynes will stick around to get up on stage with Walter........I'll put money on Eric Gales doing it. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club? Last date in Oz is 23rd March, then nothing until May in their tour dates lists.

Would love to see them at Bluesfest but will be seeing them in Brizvegas the week before anyway. There must be a couple more announcements shortly so you never know.

Yep....fingers crossed they might be amongst them. Must be round about another 30 to be announced......and must be coming reasonably soon. Looking at the latest email from BF listing the blues artists already on the bill leads me to wonder whether there won't be any more blues announcements. Still seems like there are gaps in the schedule to me.

Current 20% off sale due to sudden non-availability of Neil Diamond, maybe?

Still seems like there are gaps in the schedule to me. By my reckoning, there must be about another 30-35 artists to be announced (banking on the 80-85 of recent years). Surely must be a few more blues players/artists amongst them. "The white man had the schmaltz The black man had the blues No one knew what they was gonna do But Tchaikovsky had the news...."

Just watched the Lauryn Hill clip, (on the home page) and I'm blown away by the complexity displayed in the piano riff for the song. It ably demonstrates the solid direction new music is showing us.

Yeah , well that's one path, and I'm sure going to check out where it leads, but I'm hoping a few more artists will lead me down the old rockin' blues path.

And about time for another Bluesfest announcement.
Still another 29 artists to go and I imagine much research to do. No biggies expected at this late stage but it’s usually the lesser knowns (to me at least) who make my festival - Davy Knowles, Nikki Hill, Rhiannon Giddens, Beth Hart and Frank Turner are just a few such artists who have filled that role over the last four years.
Who’s going to do it for me this year?
