The first announcement was in August last year, so let's hope it's imminent (and that they all turn up lol).

lionel richie & nile rogers are all but locked in now in my opinion... their tour which was scheduled for october has now just been moved to the end of march & they have available dates on 3 of the bluesfest days... the annoying thing is it looks at this stage that we have lost the brisbane show but they have told us ticket holders to stand by for more info re that information in a couple weeks but just wanted to post this as it seems pretty likely that we will be seeing them in byron next easter.

Predictions:

Lionel Richie and Chic... moved their tour to March/April

Morcheeba... "We are just booking an Australian tour for March April 2018." from their Facebook page. (So either Bluesfest or Womadelaide)

I'm hoping it will be Bobby Rush. One of the original blues dudes from the Chitlin Circuit, who is 83 years young. I heard from a touring company they were trying to bring him out next year. On his Facebook page they said he was touring overseas next year too. Please be true.

It has to be said that to my mind saying on the 1st September that an announcement date will be given "next week" means it should have happened by now...I'll give the Bluesfest team the benefit of the doubt that weeks run Monday to Sunday, so they have 3 hours 10 minutes to make that promise come true...

The email I received on 5th September says:

Spring is in the air, and things are getting very exciting around the Bluesfest offices. We are SO CLOSE to having an announcement date for you...in fact we can announce that we will be announcing the announcement date next week. Cheeky, but that's why you love us.

Announcement was made 1 September so now overdue. Likely waiting to sync headliner(s) announcement with their tour promoter.

Word around there campfire is that they are in negotiations with some big acts. The inside tip is that there will be acts from the past present and future. Some international names and even a few home grown ones. One thing from my sources that is certain is that there will be one or two names that have played the festival before.

I cant reveal my source but apparently some of the acts on next years Bluesfest aren't strictly speaking pure blues acts.

Saw on the Royal Southern Brotherhood FB page that The Devon Allman Project with guest Duane Betts will be on an international tour from March.

Could be a good fit......

Eagles of Death Metal were kind of promised to return in 2018, they were fantastic last time.
“We’ll definitely be having them back …… if not in 2017 .. then the year after."

Also, now that Bluesfest is diversifying musically speaking.
How about some old school Aussie rock legends like these guys,

Iggy would be proud :d/
