Cheers, Don Hey Don...I had my Angelle's/Whiskey River Landing t-shirt (the place to go on Sunday afternoon!!). I was standing pretty much in front of Steve for all 3 sets. Met some great people at each set, though didn't know I was standing next to Sarah for the Thursday gig until we met at the Cowboys Sunday gig! I just love meeting up with fest friends old and new. Cheers!

swimming against a tsunami here I know - I tried, god knows I tried, but I still don't get it - only consolation is it freed up a couple of other acts I was previously going to have to miss, and who delivered!

What a treat to be able to view the cream of Lafayette musicanship for three sets. And a special treat to see Lucky Oceans for the first time.

Hi there again Pete ! Before you even reply I have to say I was pretty damned sure it was you when I saw the t-shirt and I'm fair kicking myself for not tapping you on the shoulder and saying g'day. But it was great to see you there and have a kindred spirit at all 3 sets. I wonder what Patrick was wearing... hmmm ? And Zyfert. Cheers to all, Don

Funny, I actually found the Thursday set more enjoyable than the Monday (though not by much). May have been a combination of the anticipation for Thursday, as well as exhaustion on my part when I made it to Monday (and so much in between the 2 sets).
Agree with sound complaints for Monday, but I think they did a great job of battling on. Plus, I think Warren Storm's vocals on the slower opening track on Thursday had me hooked from the opening verse. So I noticed those sound issues, but was also just loving it enough to brush them aside. And admire CC's silver boots :-)
Listened to the CD on the way home - a damn fine release in its own right. Still, seeing them live takes it to the next level.

I enjoyed the Thursday set. Warren Storm still has a great voice , though Lucky Oceans playing was a real eye opener for me.

I'd really like to thank the people who started this thread a long time ago and brought my attention to this great band. I downloaded their first album after hearing the positive reports and saw all three shows (only second half of monday as I had to see Angus and Julia (again among the best performers at Bluesfest this year, as they were in 2008)) and enjoyed them all and also saw CC and Warren perform at Rockwiz, along with John Cleary, great performances too, especially when they all added an additional unscheduled song at the end of the show. The Rockwiz crew were ecstatic with the way the show went and I noticed Brian Nankervis turn up at the saturday night show and go right up the front. My only complaint is that there were five days of the Bluesfest, how come LBoG only played three? Hope they come back every year.

I would not have sought them out had I not read the raves here. I saw them twice and all I can say is Lil Band of Gold is GOLD!
Buddy Guy is without doubt the best guitar player alive.......the way he plays is beyond anyone. Amen

By theloneranger, shot with NIKON D100 at 2010-04-17 Yes CC Adcock's silver boots were impressive. By theloneranger at 2010-04-17 Lucky Oceans looked to be enjoying himself, particularly on the Monday night. I'll get to Louisiana one day.

Sarah Hi Sarah I was talking to Pat Delves the other day and he said that there are about 29 in the tour party, should be great fun. I am going to a free function in City Park for ThreadHead Records artists from 7.30 on Thursday and then will get the street car back to Chickie Wah Wah. Will be interesting to see so many Aussies in the one spot, over the years I have only literaly bumped in Repete many times and have spotted Brian Wise at a food stand a few times. At least this year I know that Andy J and his mates are going to Jazzfest this year, so I have been fillling them in on a few things to see and do in town. Travel well and I hope to see you next Thursday. Cheers Gards
