I wonder if we'll get a screening of his film at the festival - The Promised Land, A Swamp Pop Journey - it sounds like it would be worthwhile viewing.

I might have been a bit presumptive thinking David Egan would be with the band. Saw him with them at the 07 jazzfest, before the heavens opened and dumped 7 inches of rain on the Fairgrounds forcing everyone to take cover. Just as the rain started, CC stood upfront, looked to the skies and screamed "is that the best you can do?" You can say he was emphatically answered!!
I know I'm greedy, but I do hope for side gigs as well by CC Adcock and the Lafayette Marquis and Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys.

Repete David Egan will be with the band and I know for a fact they are working very hard on side gigs. The promoter wants to make it worth their while, that way they will want to come back. I for one will be at every gig they will be playing here in Oz. I doubt the Playboys will perform though.
Sharleen the movie 'The promised Land' is great. I have seen twice, earlier this year at Jazz Fest and at the Melbourne film festival. It would be great if they screened it at Byron. If you see it advertised go and catch it, you wont be dissapointed.

With the playing schedule now released, I've found myself re-enthused about many acts on the bill. With the possible exception of Galactic (now that Cyril Neville is coming), Little Band o' Gold may be my most anticipated act.
So, if they are set to play on thursday, Saturday and Monday, that means that they will be in town for the duration of the festival, right? And since it happens that they are an assortment of highly talented players, surely sit-ins will abound?
The thought has me so excited, I'm about to start a new thread on it.

Side gigs are out for the band:
Apollo Bay Music Festival - March 27 Meeniyan Town Hall - March 28 Northcote Social Club - March 29 Moruya RSL - March 30
Hahaha - I love it that all bar one of their gigs are in rural communities! But as a city boy, I can't wait for the Northcote Social Club gig (I'd love to get to Meeniyan too) - a great warm-up for fest!

Sarah Lol...I'll be up front in my Floyd's Record Shop t-shirt, a souvenir from a great little record shop in Ville Platte, the heart of rural Louisiana - wanna make the boys feel at home :)
